Analytics
Self-hosted Kantan Analytics is being connected during site setup. The described configuration records visits, pages viewed, referral sources, countries, devices, clicks, scrolling and conversion events. It uses random identifiers in browser Local Storage rather than analytics cookies. IP addresses are not stored in its statistics, and external webhooks are switched off.
These measurements can help show which pages are used and how visitors interact with them. A random identifier is not a visitor's name, but information associated with an identifier may still be personal data. Local Storage is information kept in a browser; the absence of an analytics cookie does not, by itself, settle whether storing or accessing that information requires consent. Simply browsing the site should not be understood as consent to optional storage or access technologies.
Administrator access and email
Authentication cookies are used for administrator login. They relate to access to the site administration area, not to an advertising feature for readers. Advertising is switched off.
If you email the operator, your message may contain your email address, your name and any other information you choose to include. A separate first-party preference cookie can exclude the site owner’s browser from analytics for one year. Automation checks may set a session preference cookie to exclude technical visits. IP addresses are processed for country lookup and abuse prevention but are not stored in Kantan statistics. Detailed records are retained for 90 days; aggregates, summaries associated with random visitor identifiers and conversion records may be kept longer.
